The best of intentions...

Friday night I had every intention of honoring Dad via the birthday blog. But like many other days Friday turned into Tuesday! Happy Birthday Dad - sorry you had to share your gift with Mom!

Wow Liz, that picture of you looks like Courtney. Happy Birthday Bob, hope it was a good one.
I gotta admit the picture does look like Mary and Ellie too.

Such a great picture of Bob and Carol and their 2 beautiful daughters....wait, did't they have 3 girls? Was the little one stuck in the stroller or the playpen for this picture?

At Nana's (probably in the playpen)! You weren't invited to the reception after crying at the wedding. So sad...

Wherever Maria was I can guaranty that she had her thumb in her mouth. The truth is that I may have poked Maria while she was sleeping at the wedding to wake her up, and get her to cry a little. We then got to go outside for the rest of the wedding where she could eat animal crackers, and I could smoke. Too bad I couldn't figure out a way to go to Nana's with Maria instead of the reception. I wouldn't have had to listen to Grandma and Grampa Damato telling everyone what a great wife Don had found in Debbie. The inflection was that he had done better than his sister in choosing a spouse. How did that work out? OK opinions may vary.
The highlight of the reception was our shy daughter Liz standing on a table singing the entire Carpenter's songbook.
I wonder why I smoked, and dranked. As I recall Jack Daniels, and the Marlboro Man have always been friends of mine.

Dad Dad Dad you got your Damato events mixed up. I was singing the Carpenters at Dave's baptism party, quite some time after the wedding. I would have been more interested in Elvis at that point. Sadly my parents went to an Elvis concert during that visit but in spite of my begging and pleading would not take me. Have I mentioned Faith Hill also begged and pleaded to go to an Elvis concert but her parents took her? Just think how my life could have turned out had you taken me...

Are you saying that Tim McGraw would have been my son-in-law? Cha Ching!! If my Dad had taken me to see Elvis when I was a teenager would I be married to Faith Hill? Do Catholic Priests make good babysitters?

I seem to be several comments behind here. First of all, I didn't remember Maria not being at the reception. Dad would have liked to spend the evening at Nana & Papa's also. I would like to point out that I made those lovely blue dresses ( there were three of them) They were made in beautiful Colorado, not Ohio or Mexico.
