Not much going on...

Well in my life compared the rest of the world.

Mary’s party is at 3:00 on Saturday still not really sure who is coming. We are having ELMO cake and I am trying to decide about food. She loves pizza so do I order pizza or cook some of the roast I have in the freezer in the Crockpot? Or do I assume no one will stay long enough to eat a meal?

Jim and I took her out to dinner Saturday night she did really well considering how tired she was but she did blow waiting for dessert we stayed too long. She also got really upset when I tore her bread in half thinking it would be easier to eat, she kept trying to put it back together while crying. Daddy to the rescue handed her more and she put her 2 halves on his plate to prove she’s not totally unreasonable she just doesn’t want people messing with her bread.

Courtney is busy in school, tests, papers projects that pretty much sums it up.

24 hours later - all figured out

She was driving it like she had been doing it all her life today! Even figured out how to go in forward or reverse if she needed to a couple of times.  OK I admit it Jim was right!

Jeep Hurricane!

Here she is – Jim was right she loved it but she loves turning the key and playing with the radio most. She isn’t really sure she wants to make it go.

Surprise after nap!

Just ordered #2 - Jim & Courtney both picked it! I hope the have the family PJ's again this year.

Jim talked me into getting her the Jeep Hurricane motorized car so after nap I think she will get to try that out - I wonder what she will do? I said maybe we should wait for her birthday or Christmas but he argued she would get to play with it this weekend if we got it now and who knows what the weather will be like later. So much for not spoiling her!

Gymbucks time...

Now that I have addressed politics, tipping and parenting this week in my blog. I must get back to something that concerns me far more - no not football. What Christmas dress am I going to buy Mary with the Gymbucks and gift cards that I have that are burning a hole in my pocket - here are the choices since you were all so helpful with the Easter dress selection I am putting it up for a vote. I know two are plaid one is a dress one is a jumper and yes she did have pictures taken in a plaid dress last year if that matters.

p.s. Sarah Palin kicked some butt last night!!

Listening ears

Mary started the 2 year old class and got slammed for not listening even got called out for being “disruptive to the class” well in that she isn’t even 2 I am wondering just what they expect? I am guessing Mary needs to break these new teachers in just like she did us.  They did say one on one she listens great but if they pay attention to anyone else she is running around and not sitting down. I am shocked she is the only almost 2 year old doing this?  I talked to one of the other teachers (who is older) and she didn’t seem to think it was a big deal at all.  I guess we will see what she does today…

Things that annoy me....

While it could be argued you could rename my blog “Things that annoy me” I will continue.

Today’s topics - the tip jar at the register. This came about when I stopped for lunch at a place that is both sit down and counter service. As I am paying for my overpriced salad ($8.11 come on what does lettuce and 1/2 pound of fajita meat really cost) I notice a “tip jar”. For the record swiping my credit card is not “tip worthy” nor is handing me my $5 cup of coffee. Even you barista’s out there who say you should get a tip for making it let me clue you in you need to talk to your employer they are making a killing! I could buy a 3 pound can of Folgers for what one Venti Triple Shot Carmel Macchiato runs. The tip is included in the cost of my overpriced addiction –which by the way I have not been to for a week apparently my hatred for sitting in line in the drive through is stronger than my addiction for Starbucks.

That being said I always tip at Sonic to the kid who brings out my food, we tip at least 25% if Mary is eating with us as sometimes food ends up on the floor and she is high maintenance (like her father) when she is ready to go we better have the check and paid because the girl has no patience.

For those of you out there saying “you need to stop that” I would love to hear how because all of things that worked on Courtney do not work on Mary. Courtney before you can say it “you wanted her” yes I did she was my birthday wish every year and virtually every prayer I prayed and I wouldn’t change anything about her.
