Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo

Well file this one under “What was I thinking”.. I have been showing Mary videos of Disney World online, telling her about eating with the princesses, Mickey, Donald, parades, rides and fireworks trying to prepare her for the awesome time we are going to have. Then I find out about the “Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo Boutique”. I told her there is even a place you can even get your hair done before dinner at the castle. Found a video on you tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kmrnjW7Ie0&feature=related) and this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPJ3BVkq60A&feature=related now that is all my poor kid talks about when I mention Disney now "No hair Mommy”. What kid wants to get their hair done for hours and sit still in a chair – the video scarred poor little Mary for life.

lol..but just think about how cute she will look all Princess'ed up ready to have a meal with royalty! You will just have to trick her into getting her hair done. She will forgive you eventually!

Girls, don't be so mean. She doesn't care what she looks like. Now when she gets Kylie's age, maybe.

And you will be sure we have pictures? (silly question) I think Court should dress up this year too:) (sorry Court). It is exciting and it would be so much fun to see Mary's face and excitment. I know you will all have fun.

That just made me laugh. I can see how she would consider that a form of torture.

I think Mary is saying "no hair Mommy" because she is afraid of a bad hair day, did you see what they did to that kid? She was so much cuter before they yanked all her hair back. Mary knows, some of us need bangs. Auntie M

Let's see if I understand all of this. You are going to spend thousands of dollars to visit the home of a mouse. While there you are going to go to a Princess breakfast. If I remember the last trip correctly, the breakfast was very early in the morning, and all the little girls were wiped out from the night before. You will be served a poor imitation of a Denny's breakfast at an overpriced rate. To insure that Mary enjoys this experience you are going to buy an overpriced princess outfit that will be so scratchy it will insure that Mary will be uncomfortable through the whole experience. To further enhance the experience for Mary the good folks at Disney are advising a hair styling treatment that looks like it should be part of the Waterboarding legislation that President Obama is trying to pass. Thank God Mary has the sense to say NO. The greatest thrill for Mary would be for Mary to see her sister dressed up as a princess. I'm certainly not up to date on all the Disney Princesses, so please remind me which one it is that wears cowboy boots. Could it be Princess who dances at Mickey Gilly's.
I think Mary would be upset if the Disney Princesses were in jeans, and not costumes, or if Mickey was not wearing his ears. Your going to see the wonderful fantasy world of Disney in all it's glory, and Mary wil be thrilled, and enjoy every minute of it no matter what she is wearing or what her hair looks like. She will have much more fun if she is comfortable.
In reviewing the pictures of the last Disney trip, although the girls all looked happy, and thrilled posing for pictures with the princesses, the look on the face of Chris H. while taking pictures with the princesses seems to be the happiest. The one with the I Dream of Jeanie princess is downright creepy.
One of my favorite pictures is of Conner in tights dressed up as a prince, or maybe Elton John, with all his cousins in their princess outfits.
I have made my plea for common sense, and am done.

OK you are killing me here not thousands of dollars (Jim could read the blog on an off day and have a heart attack) the airfare, hotel & car are all covered with miles or points, Actually lets not make this about money but the memory my little Mary (and hopefully Courtney) will cherish forever can you really put a price on that - nope priceless! When exactly did Mary turn into a sassy teenager? Last night I told her she as going to listen at Disney because its a big place with lots of people and she may get lost. She said "Daddy already told me that you not have to tell me" nice long sentence but talking back already??

My point exactly. The memories should be of the wonderful world of Disney, and not scratchy dresses, and hair torture.

Papa has a way with words. He makes us all remember the bad as well as the good at Disney. My favorite picture was a tie. connor trying to shave his lips with a razor and Ellie in the princess dress and the Brunhilda horns. The sweetest picture was of Lauren & I in Minnie's house. She was so darned happy to be there.

I have lots of wonderful memories from that trip. Like Liz, I love Disney World and I really enjoyed the Princess dinner and watching all our Princess's. Kyra had lots of funn dressing up in her Princess dress, even if it was scratchy.
