I got an email saying the wood floor we ordered (about $800.00 less than anywhere else we looked) is backordered and they would not have it until 10/2. I thought for a second I was back in 2006 pregnant and trying to get the kitchen done. I checked my gut and while I do have the muffin top going today definitely not 8 months pregnant. So all birthday party guests that were staying at our house – sorry we booked you a room at a hotel nearby because the upstairs will be a construction zone no two ways about it. My guess is when its gets here Jim will be busy bailing hay so who knows when Mary’s room will actually get done. In the great scope of things not a huge deal. Unfortunately Jim had the bad luck of timing his Monday phone call minutes after I read the email so the bad words were flowing especially since I can’t swear around Mary I had been saving them up. I am sure he hung up and was glad he was not home!

You know...I have some construction management in my career days. I think if you would have consulted me on your construction schedule, you would been advised to not start a project like this right before an event. But I also would have thought you would have learned that the last time you did this. To quote Nana....Silly girl!
Sure will be nice when you get it all finished. Don't worry and just enjoy your party and guests.

Don't worry, we'll take Mary to the hotel with us, (she can sleep with Aunt T.)
The kids will all love getting to play in the pool at the hotel, there are some advantage to staying in a hotel. :)
