More haunting memories from childhood, I wonder if anyone said that to Mary yesterday when she got her hair cut at baby school? I hear she didn’t want to do it and had a meltdown, I guess her punishment was them cutting her bangs too short! Maybe it’s just me but I like my bangs just over my eyebrows these look at bit short and crooked. Once again Jim called it “are you sure you want someone to cut her hair without you being there to tell them what to do” I gave him the old “No it will be fine they have a licensed professional come in” – it’s just hair it will grow back (I guess) but I did cancel her 21 month old pictures I had scheduled for next week I don’t want her to ask me later who cut her bangs!
Day 2 of the “Motown Experiment” (all the Oklahoma relatives are saying “Mo what”?) is going well she tried to sing “Papa was a Rolling Stone” last night, I was quite proud. I have fond memories of Mom dancing in the living room with the Temptations. Jim is pretty much ignoring my experiment and wondering why country music isn’t enough for her. I guarantee you I am the only one driving a white suburban on George Bush Freeway (probably the only one in Texas) with the Temptations cranked up!
I wonder if Mary has the odd music gene where the kids like music way before their time like Landrie belting out “Sweet Home Alabama” at the dinner table when she was 2 or Connor having a meltdown in Best Buy because Chris & Maria wouldn’t buy him his own copy of the Journey’s Greatest hits CD - apparently they didn’t share theirs well enough.

Actually her hair looks good, and you are right, it will grow quickly. In a couple of days you'll never know it was too short. She is giving you a mean look, probably it is "come on lets go home".
It is great to have a taste for variety in music.

Wow, doesn't look like she enjoyed the haircut. Landrie did have some strange taste in music. Good old Papa taught her a song callled "fat bottom girls". Another interesting song!

Sorry to say that was this morning sometimes she's not a morning person much like Bobo!
love that look....that's my look before my coffee!!!
Courtney sang too! Someone used to call it the Donny and Marie hour with me and Rog signing with her in the car. Roger would drive and I played the piano on the dash. HA! And she learned to Walk like an Egyptian at our house on one visit.

I think it's important to pass on important things like music to your kids. While I like most of the music that my teenagers listen to, I still say that the 70's and 80's had the best music ever. When the kids were little, I used to play a game called "I bet you can't tell me who sings this". If it was an easy one, like AC/DC, then I'd bet them a kiss. If it was a hard one, I'd bet them money. One time Judas Priest "You've Got Another Thing Coming" came on and I was so sure that they didn't know it, I said I'd pay the person who named the singer $50. Wasn't I surprised when after throwing out groups like Van Halen, Ratt, and Journey, Cory said "Judas Priest". I had to pay up. The kids still bring that up and laugh about it, but I can tell you, my kids know their music!
