One of my favorite quotes from my brother in law Chris G. - referring someone who talks about how smart their kid is and comparing him to Schroder (Schroeder is an infant who has learned to sit up in order to play Beethoven on his toy piano) from “The Peanuts “
Anyway here is the story, I picked up Mary from baby school yesterday (I prefer that to daycare) and Miss Jessica told me when she asked the class what the train said little Mary (who doesn’t say much) said “choo choo”. Of course she wouldn’t repeat it - Mary is like ER Hutton when she talks you better listen. Miss Jessica also said “when a child is advanced in one area some of the other lag behind, Mary is advanced as far and figuring out things and putting things together” Now I knew I needed to remember the exact words used because I was going to get the third degree from Jim. I fully expect him to ask her "what is the derivative of x?" this weekend. Or perhaps present her with a pile of steel and the welder and tell her to come up with a design for a horse stall. Now that someone has confirmed what he has known all along we will be filling out applications online for the Harvard class of 2029.
My heart goes out to our oldest daughter Courtney having to make some difficult decisions and changes, please remember her in your prayers that the Lord gives her the strength to stay strong.

I'll be praying for courtney, that is such a hard age i remember feeling so many overwhelming things cuz i felt like i needed to know exactly where my life was going and what i thought it should be. It is a hard age cuz you are really trying to figure out who you are..... Well almost 20 years later i finally think i know who i am!!!? ;) do i????
We all feel for Courtney. As the Disney song goes "Some Day Her Prince Will Come". He will probably be riding in a chariot pulled by a pack of wolves, but we can hope for the best. Stay strong Courtney.
As far as wonder baby goes, we all think our kid's are the smartest things in the world. Let's get grounded here for a moment. Don't start sending checks to Harvard yet. Figuring out how to put things together can mean a lot of differant things. Knowing in what order the pickle, tomato, onion, and lettuce go on top of a meat patty to build a Whopper is also figuring out how to put things together.
Mary does not have to be an Engineer to be a success and be loved. If she turns out as great as Courtney I'll be happy. Besides that, whoever heard of a Harvard student being an OU fan? Of course if she can't hold on to things like ornaments she should plan on being an Engineer. You sure can't be in construction if you can't hold on to your tools. I'm pretty sure that most of the people out there building horse stalls don't have a degree from Harvard.
I hope you are right about Mary and she starts college right after Baby School. That would counter Ellie who I have decided is going to be a pole dancer for Jesus at Shotgun Willie's.
Come on Lisa jump in here. You can play with your pictures anytime.
Once again I am pretty much at a loss for words...I still trying to figure out how Ellie knows what a pole dancer is and does it have anything to do with Theresa wearing Chris' underwear? Now that we all have that mental image firmly planted...I will go back to my regularly scheduled work.
Lisa
Sorry "T"...It is your dad's fault I typed it. He is to blame for most bad things...cept the Cowboy loss last week...Jessica S. is getting to carry that cross.
"a pole dancer for Jesus" how do you come up with that combo? Is that like stripping for the Lord and putting your tips in the plate at church on Sunday? I am intrigued by the thought process behind this one.
