Question answer session for Papa

Forgive me for those of you not enthralled in College football but my Dad needs a little help with his reasoning skills.

Dad: Let me try to understand this thinking. Texas beat OU, but OU is the Division champion even though they have the same record as Texas. Oh yeah the Division Championship was awarded by a computer. OU must have a very good Computer programming course at the school. I hope if the same computer picks Alabama or Florida as the National Champion the Texas group continues to support that same computer.

OK Dad I agree the right answer is Texas and Oklahoma play for the Big 12 championship Missouri doesn’t belong there. The powers that be came up with the North/South playoff game to give the crappy schools in the North a chance but none of them have as good of a record as 5 of the schools in the Big 12 South

Dad: I hate to admit that Obama is right. We do need a playoff system. Wait a minute we already had one. Texas beat OU.

And Tech beat Texas and OU beat Tech therein lies the dilemma again refer to answer 1 where Missouri is actually the problem

Dad: If only we could computerize the NFL. The Broncos could play the Cowboys in the Super Bowl. Wait we already have that too. It's called Madden 2009.

I wouldn’t talk too much about a team that is 7-5 and yet leading the AFC West which is the weakest division in the league

Dad: Is it too Old School to ask that the game, and ultimately the best team should be decided on the field?

And it will assuming Oklahoma beats Missouri they will play the winner of the Alabama / Florida game

Dad: Remember OU still has to play Missouri for the Big 12 Championship, and even though Missouri sucks right now, OU has a history of choking against poor teams in big games.

I wouldn’t say that happens very often - if you are talking about Boise State they were undefeated and pretty damn good

Dad: I guess y'all have figured out that I'm home from North Carolina. Be very afraid because I kept notes for a blog to comment on the trip. A Monster blog is coming.

Dad: I wish Liz would put the music back on the blog. How about Sweet Home Alabama in honor of the NUMBER 1 ranked football team in the Nation?

For now they are remember there is another game for them with Florida and might I remind you Alabama BARELY beat LSU?
