Yes I know I am crazy. Gymbucks time starts on 1/17. During this time you can use your Gymbucks ($25 increments) to deflect from every $50 of purchases. So I have $100 in Gymbucks so I will need $200 in my basket to use them all. I have been adding and subtracting from my basket since the end of December in anticipation of this.
The planning involved would make a sane person nuts which prompted me to start a spreadsheet listing all of Mary's outfits by season (along with pictures of hair bows I have ordered) to figure out what season and size clothes I need to be buying. For instance she has PLENTY of 18-24 winter clothes (long sleeve shirts with pants) but when its time for short sleeve shirts what size will she be? I am guessing 2T by summer but when will she move to "Toddler Club" and wear uniforms 4 days a week? Oh wow uniforms - I need to look at the colors and maybe order some bows to match if I don't have them. Anyway I have 7 more days to get this all squared away but it is weighing heavy on my mind.

Planning my gymbucks purchases

You have finally done it. After reading today's blog I have changed my mind and am now officially in favor of uniforms for Mary 24/7. Theresa is concerned about the effect on Mary having to wear uniforms. I am woried about you shopping for anything but uniforms. You are officially out of control. Mary will grow up to be the Imelda Marcos of ribbons and bows. Think about recreating the Elvis jumpsuits into little jackets for Mary to wear over her uniforms. What kid wouldn't look great with a sequined eagle on her back.
OU might have noticed the final won lost record for the Broncos. You might recall that before the season started I said the Broncos were an 8 and 8 team at best. OU might have noticed that CU lost in their bowl. I told you they stunk. I think it's great that Texas Tech, Missouri, and Kansas won their Bowl Games. OU and I can be proud of the Big 12. OU might recall that when I was there for Mary's birthday I predicted LSU would be #1. Who's your daddy? Guess what is going to happen if the Cowboys are lucky enough to get to the Super Bowl against the Patriots? Even if Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood sleep with Brady the Cowboys are going down.
Any bets on Lisa commenting on the blog today. OU might have noticed that I refrained from saying anything bad about her favorite team.
I just have 3 words for you........... Mary, Mary, Mary. Holy mother of mosses why are you obsessed with her clothes. I always had to wear stupid fluffy dresses. Where is her stupid dresses? I ask you where is the fairness here?
Court (the other daughter)
When Courtneys right she's right. You have got to be far and equal with your daughters. Why can't you spend some of those gymbucks on a stupid fluffy dress for Mary?
Is Gymbucks like Starbucks? I think they are, both are addictive. Hey, where are the bows that matched Courtney's fluffy dresses? As I remember she had quite a collection. I know you save things like that , so dig them out and donate the gymbucks to some needy little girls.
Courtney - you did not have to wear "stupid fluffy dresses" except for pictures and on holidays just like your sister. You wore cute dresses to Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade with matching hair things, back in the early 90's scrunchies were popular too so you had a bunch of those along with bigger bowes that are too big for your sister. Of course they are "upstairs" so I will probably never see them again.
Back on the subject of your clothing I didn't buy anything for you until you turned 4 if it weren't for the kindness of others you would have been wearing clothes from Walmart during your formative years. I certainly knew nothing about Gymboree, even an outfit on sale would have filled up the car back in 1986.
That being said you got the best years of my life. I had plenty of energy and time for you. I also sewed alot of your clothes and made most of your hair accessories. You haven't seen me whip out the sewing machine for your sister have you? All I can say is Courtney, Courtney, Courtney!
And so it begins........ And so it continues...
Hey idea..... I think while I am babysitting mary tonight, I will tell her how you used to make those bows that were bigger than my head. Then, I am sure mary would love to have some of those bows. Except you will have to make her bows bigger, because well..... um her head is bigger. ohhh yes I said it..
OK Liz this is the first time I have taken the time to actually write something. I just had to jump in on this one. I must say I do remember those "fluffy" dresses Courtney wore.
As for Mary and Gymboree....well all I can say here is I have a 19 month old and another son being born on Feb 14th that is going to need some new clothes. I think you should DONATE those gymbucks to me. You know two boys can just about break a family financially....just ask Aunt Melba. Oh and by the way, Don't think I will be needing any of those hair bows for the boys. That should SAVE a fortune...might even be enough to put both of them through college!
GO COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amy
Can you believe my life has been so crazy that I forgot to read the blogs since the one when you went back to work. I'll have to go back and catch up. I must say, the responses on this one have given me a big smile. You all made my day. Court, you always looked so cute and Aunt Donna always commented on how good your Mommy was with you. You were a very special baby also.
Amy, I'm sure glad you don't need those bows for the boys.
Go Cowboys!!!
OU is still #1 in my opinion, they just like to imbarrass me when they come to Phoenix.
Love you all.
Nana
The Cowboys and OU both stink in equal amounts right now.
SO that being the case...
Go Packers! Who cares anyway. **sniff sniff sob**
Lisa
Again with the uniforms. What kind of uniform could possibly be designed for a baby. Are we talking khaki pants and a white polo shirt or the classic catholic school girl uniform in plaid. Just askin'?
