The most stubborn baby in the world

The sleeping issue has once again reared its ugly head. Over the last few weeks Mary doesn't want to be rocked to sleep. We have to lay down with her, even for naps. Since I think we are going backwards its time to get this mess resolved. So I am listening to her cry in her crib. In two more minutes I am going to go in and check on her - lay her back down and the screaming will start again. I wonder if Dr. Ferber ever had a baby like Mary when he wrote the book?

I just went in there she is screaming louder than ever, I feel like I am just torturing her. She has no idea why she is in the room with the door shut she probably just thinks we are being mean to her. She is completely hysterical now - we are going to pick her up.

She cried for over 30 minutes then it took me that long to settle her back down. She is whimpering in her sleep in my bed. I guess I am going to have to use bribery when she is older to convince her to sleep.

I am so sorry she isn't sleeping good for you guys. I know how hard it is when they fight it. Presley has been really good for quite some time but there was a day where she was up every 2 hours around the clock!!!! I felt like running away from home and never looking back....but now she is a 12-13 hour night sleeper and a good napper all in her crib so Mary will get there eventually hopefully sooner than later!!!! Just hang in there she sounds like a stubborn lil' soul which can be a good thing later on in life she knows what she wants and won't settle

How do they get her to take a nap at daycare? Put a TV next to her crib, and let her lay in bed and watch TV untill she goes to sleep. Any of those chick flicks on Oh or Lifetime will put anyone to sleep. Try not setting a definate time for her nap. Kids are like puppies. They fall asleep when they get tired enough. Ever tried to put a puppy down for a nap? I remember you wouldn't take a nap unless Dad laid down to take one too. You and your sisters also started a lot of naps on my lap in the chair just like the picture of Mary and Jim.

Napping seems to be a very individual experience from kid to kid. Some love to nap and go with no problem. Some fight it all the way. It's a power struggle between Mom & kid.Your sister's boys were told they had to go in their rooms and "rest" I'm sure rest turned into nap many times.Mary is probably just going through a phase that will pass.by the way, I don't think kids are like puppies.Puppies are much hairier. She doesn't nap or sleep in her crib at night. She hates to be alone she cries if I leave the room. At daycare they rock her and put her in the crib when she is asleep, when I start rocking her she wants to get down (she is wise to that game)So I lay down with her and stay there so she doesn't wake up and crawl off the bed. So I am watching football right now - not such a bad deal except the Broncos aren't on here today.

Be glad your watching football. If the Broncos were on you would be watching them, and not football. The Mastermind has lost his mind. Broncos Suck. You should tape all the Bronco games and play them for Mary at bedtime. Quaranteed to put her to sleep.
