It was the best of times it was the worst of times

We survived Halloween! It had its good times and bad, Mary loved the little bit of candy I let her eat but not too excited about putting on her costume. She loved walking around to go trick or treating like the other kids but did not want to hold my hand or stay on the sidewalk. The pictures below should give you some idea of how the night went.

She is becoming quite the little waver - she waved at all the kids we passed out candy to. Kind of a sad commentary on our block only about 6 of the houses had their lights on but I have never seen so many kids! I have always suspected people drop their kids off in our neighborhood to Trick or Treat. At first I kind of had an issue with that but Jim pointed out what was really wrong with parents wanting to take their kids to a safe place to trick or treat? Now something I do have an issue with is teenage kids that are not dressed up trick or treating. I told Courtney to give them candy I don't want them egging the cars later.

Allright you had to make the poor kid cry. I thought she was a piglet this year and the honey pot next year. I can't keep up.
I can understand why she doesn't want to walk on the sidewalk. I've walked on your sidewalks. Bobo was having a hard time staying upright with all the shifting and cracks.
Imagine that. Teenage kids not dressing up and demanding candy. They must be training to be OU fans. Sorry Lisa, but I haven't had an oppurtunity to zing OU fans for weeks. You gotta get your kicks where you can.

It is ok Bob..I understand. It must be rough having to wait years and years between winning games against us to be able to make those "zing" comments. It is tough on a fan when most years the only bowl your team can make it to is the toilet bowl. {Is that a BCS Bowl? Nah...I don't think so.}

Mary makes a cute little hunny pot! Just wait till she wants to be a witch and have her face painted GREEN!!! I remember the day a precious little angel with a little white halo teetered around our neighborhood tripping on the sidewalk cracks, spilling her candy when she fell and making mommy or daddy go with her to the door at the houses that were too scary to approach alone. If I look closely, I am positive I can see her growing right before my very eyes. Well..I gotta go now and hug my witch and cry my self to sleep. ~sniffle~

BTW, Court's big sister costume was adorable! And I see Liz and I both decided to wear the ever popular "Mom" costume this year! I hear it is all the rage in New York!!!

And Bob...you know we love our Buffalo fans so I guess it is ok if you guys win every now and then. If I recall correctly, we were at one of the games where CU won at OU. They brought the rain and cold weather with them and I had to go buy a sweatshirt so I wouldn't freeze to death! The Sooners forgot to come back out on the field at half time at that one.

Dad - the whole pack of wolves comment with regard to piglet disturbed me a little so we went with the honey pot. Besides I doubt it will fit next year.

Lisa - I know what you mean about them growing up before your eyes it doesn't seem like 23 years could pass so fast.
