Oldies?

Do the Oldies stations really have to change with the times? When I was driving home Monday Mary woke up a little early so I put on KLUV the oldies station here in Dallas. Courtney used to like to listen to it when she was little I was thinking we would hear a little Surfin USA or Return to Sender. They are playing Billy Squier (you remember “The Stroke” from the early 80’s) singing The Locomotion now everyone knows its Little Eva who sings that – Billy Squier covering it come on! I kept listening and they played a song from the 80’s! The 80’s - that is not an oldie!! Oldies are 50’s and 60’s music ask anyone!

For people currently between the ages of 30 to 40 music from the 80's might be considered oldies. For ancient people like me the 80's was just last week. It's all relevant. You notice there are very few oldies from the 70's. That's because it was Disco then, and is Disco now. One thing is for sure Disco still sucks. Elvis never did a Disco song. Long live Rock and Roll, and Shakira.

Please don't tell me Mary's new favorite song is the Stroke! Peanut Butter Jelly Time was bad enough.
